For Fat Loss”

Good morning Ray,

I purchased the Fat to Fit program a couple of days ago and I’m trying to read through it and get my fat loss plan going. I have a couple of questions but guess it would help to give you some of my stats…I’m 45 (on Friday!), female, 5’4” and about 128 or 129 lbs. I carry virtually all of my fat in my legs and butt and really want to lose fat in that part of my body but still build muscle. I’ve been training for a few years now, but about 8 months ago had back surgery for L5-S1 herniated disc. I would say that I’m about 95% recovered.

In reviewing the manual, I thought I would start with the “AKA shredder” fat loss routine but I’m uncertain what a few of the exercises are and have not been able to locate a picture/video on the website. They are: Flutter Kicks, Burpees on the bench and Mountain Climbers. Also, how much cardio would you recommend?

I’m enjoying the fat loss program/website, have started my journal and getting excited about my new workouts! Plan to take measurements by the weekend.

Thank you,
C Richards

Hey Chris, first off, if you decide to do these exercises I would be very careful about your back. Make very sure that you never allow your back to sway. You always want to keep your abdominals very tight to keep your back safe. Start very slowly and DO NOT work to failure. At the first sign of any back strain, give it a rest.

First in the video you see the Flutter kicks, followed by the burpees. In the book I say burpees on a box. That means that when you do the jump portion, you jump onto a box and then back off for the next burpee. This is the advanced version. Start slow and on the ground until you get used to it.

Then in the video you see the mountain climbers. If you have any questions, just ask. As you know, I always want to make sure you have the answers to all your questions as you go through the fat loss program.

As for the cardio, if fat loss is your main goal, then you can do as much as you can handle but I would suggest 3 hard 30 minute sessions of cardio in addition to the “SHREDDER” sessions in a week.

Great job on getting started and I look forward to your before and afters!
