Suggested Protein Powder Review

I recently have been getting hundreds of emails asking me what supplements I suggest and what I am currently using.

Instead of answering the same questions over and over again, I decided to just write up a quick post to put my favorites in a list. Safe to say for now that I do endorse these proteins below. They have no artificial sweeteners and mix easily. I just wanted to get this page up for reference quick but individual reviews of each protein below will be coming in the next couple of days as I put my thoughts to paper.

If you are like me, you are probably pretty busy too. I try my best to get most of my calories from real food. But of course there are times when I just don’t have time to cook or prepare my own meals. That’s where these come in handy.

Chocolate personally tops my list of flavored proteins. It’s not that it is a better blend or anything like that but I personally can only stand the taste of chocolate and totally unflavored when it comes to protein. Actually it’s the same with ice cream…but that’s a whole other story.

I’ll pass on vanilla if given the choice but will also rank it second because it mixes with fruits and flavors well. It just kind of subtly sits in the background. You know it’s there but it does not overwhelm.

Some of my personal training clients with sweet tooth love the strawberry flavor but personally I can’t stand the taste or the smell. To me it’s so sweet I almost gag. Having said that, if I was to cheat on a diet, I would go for chips before candy. My sweet tooth is pretty weak.

You can order any of the three flavors mentioned above at the this link below:

What About Meal Replacements?

I believe that the most important meal is the meal that you take after your workout session is over.

A lot of people don’t eat anything after working out causing even more muscle breakdown (not the results that you want).

I recommend that you consume protein and carbs during the first 20 minutes after your workout session is over. You need protein to repair and build your muscle tissue and carbs to replenish your glycogen level.

For convenience, I recommend a “Post Workout Meal.” It has everything you need to start repairing and building your muscle tissue. The only thing I don’t like about meal replacements and the reason I will always try to eat a meal over a meal replacement is because of all the additives and artificial sweeteners. I just don’t dig them one bit. Of course, people still drink diet pops too so obviously I’m not mainstream with my thinking.

When forced to because I can’t make a meal, here is the meal replacement I prefer:

NONE

Huh? That’s right, unless it’s incredibly expensive I have not found a meal replacement that does not contain a list of ingredients that I don’t want to put in my body. But you want the convenience of a meal replacement! I hear you… so eat a banana with your protein shake….DONE. But what about the fats? K… so eat some almonds. DONE.

If you have any questions… post them below.

I use Flash 5 bars as meal replacement when needed, they don’t have as much protein, but have no artificial sweeteners and taste great (especially the berry one).
