Dear Ray,
I am 52 – 185 lbs. I have always done the roller coaster diet. The nutritionist at the gym said my metabolism is just not working. I have done everything to the letter. I was doing a 900 cal diet. She said that was way too low. I have increased my cal. intake, worked with her as my pt and still not losing weight. I am getting stronger. Any ideas what might work. I really need to be around 140- 150. I have been working with a pt for 2 months. I do cardio 5 days a week – 30 min. Weight train 4 days a week 45 min. I really need some help. The nutritionist/pt says she is not sure why the weight is not coming off.
Thanks for your help
Questions like this are tuff for me because I’m not there to look at everything but I’m sure your personal trainer is good and knows what they are doing.
So on that note, when this happens I always suggest a visit to the doctor. The reason for this is that sometimes something inside “breaks”. There are all kinds of systems in the body and sometimes something just stops working. When that happens you need to find out what it is and fix it.
If you go to the doctor and your blood work, hormones and thyroid are all doing great, then you need to go back and look at your training, cardio and nutrition advice that your trainer gave you.
Simple, but thats what I do with clients that are having problems.
Dear Ray,
Thank you for the advice. It is about time for my yearly checkup and I will let the doctor know what is going on and take it from there.
Thanks again,
Karen
