Ray,
I just stumbled upon your site while searching for a cure for my ‘C-section belly’. I was wondering if there is anyway of ever getting rid of it. I had my 2nd child in February, got out of the military in June, moved from Texas to Virginia. My husband and the kids and I commute starting at 6 a.m. and don’t get home until 6:30-7:00 at night.
I read your section about moms making time. But what if there isn’t any. After taking care of kids and baths and dinner and getting ready to do it again the next…I give up. Plus, with the holidays and planning on moving back to Texas in the next couple of weeks, I am the last thing I am worried about. And yes it has effected me and my husband’s “relationship”.
I am 220 lbs. I broke my leg and didn’t walk for 6 months and then got pregnant. So I have accumulated alot of weight. I have lost 20 lbs. from the South Beach Diet. I am or used to be muscular and always was measured by body fat in the military. I thought about at least 3 x a week, but would that even make a difference? Anyway, I wanted to try your ab workout before buying your book. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx,
Talina
Answer: This is tuff Talina. I know the spot your in and I congratulate you on seeking advice. That’s a good first step.
I am going to assume that you are subscribed to my Fat To Fit Newsletter and so have looked at the first routine. This routine takes 5 minutes. FIND THE TIME and keep reading.
I have to be to the point because everyone deserves truth. So here it is. If you cannot find 5 minutes to do this simple routine 3-4 times a week, then I cannot help you. THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY. If you watch any TV at all, then there is your time. If you ever stand still for more than 20 seconds, then there is your set of bodyweight squats. Every time you reach into the cupboards there is a potential set of calve raises. Workout routines don’t all have to be completed in one sitting. Spread it out over the day. A set of sit ups here and a set of lunges there will keep you IN GREAT SHAPE. You just need to decide that YOU ARE IMPORTANT.
You have to be the most important thing in your family because without you, IT WOULD FALL APART. Take care of yourself. You owe it to your husband, your children and most of all, yourself. When you’re healthy, you’re happy and families deserve happy parents.
Now as far as the abdominal workout program you got from the site, they are all good. Here is the catcher though. Unless it is a part of a full body workout program, that abdominal program will do nothing for you.
Fat burns off the body as a system through being in a calorie deficit. Doing a full body workout three times a week with even some simple jumping jacks is a faster way to tone up your midsection than a 1000 situps or any abdominal workout out there.
Please head this advice Talina, I’m here to help.
