I just ran across a site that has a great concept but needs a little help to grow. The site is http://lessonplans.teacherlingo.com and offers elementary lesson plans. Now, like I said, I think it’s a great concept and here’s why I’m talking about it and why it needs some help.
They have Physical Fitness (Physical Education) as well as Health and Nutrition categories for lessons plans that teachers can upload and or download to use for their own classes. The only problem is that after a couple of searches in the search section on the main page in the areas that you as a reader of this fitness blog would find interesting, I found them lacking.
The search results are not very accurate at all and not much volume is given back. This could either be that their search engine is poor or that the lack of relevant content is preventing them from turning out the results you would like to see. They seem to be a young site and maybe just need more participation from teachers with something to share.
So that’s why I am posting. If you are a teacher or educator and have lesson plans that you would like to upload to increase the size of the data base then you can follow that link above and do so. I think it would be great to have a large selection available to pull from at any time and not have to spend endless hours prepping for a high quality class!
For instance, running a little outdoor bootcamp for kids? You’d be able to visit over, scan through a couple of Physical Education class, pick the one that looks fun and excites you and off you go.
The site seems to be loading a little slow right now but I’m sure they will work that out as they smooth out the system.
