Here is the first of a three part series on the dangers of the excitotoxin MSG from the Mercola youtube channel. I’ve included all three of the MSG series so you can learn about how it effects your weight and babies development.
You can find MSG in everything from your salad dressings all the way to the wax coating on your apples… scary I know.
You really owe it to yourself and your family to watch this.
As well, here is a link to a list of places and foods that have hidden MSG
Dangers Of MSG Part 1
Dangers Of MSG Part 2
Dangers Of Monosodium Glutamate Part 3
If this sort of information has interested you, there is a lot more going on in the food industry just like this. Here is a great spot on YOUTUBE to learn more.
Wow, Ray. I knew about MSG but that was an eye opener. Thank you very much for catching this and letting people know. I try to be so careful with what I eat and now I have to reconsider other foods as well. Thank God I am not big on processed foods anyway. Proud of you!
See that everyone? My mom’s proud of me
It’s because of my mother that I started eating properly and treating my body right with healthy home cooked meals and getting kicked outside to play and ride my bike. I hope you can do the same for you kids and give them the jump start they deserve on life.
Wow! Thank you for this lesson. Since I arrived in Canada 8 years ago – eating almost the same type of meals as in the country I came from – I gained 40lbs during first year. I’m still struggling to loose those extra Lbs till now. I know what to blame…. processed food and lack of time to prepare proper meals. Thank you Ray, keep this up. Joanna
It just goes to show you how sometimes people don’t even know all the little things that are stacked up against them. We really need to get back to basics and eat REAL food WE make with our own hands.
Glad it was useful to you Joanna.
long known that this stuff is lethal –
one night when I was about 20, I went with some friends to a Chinese restaurant
and had the soup ….. affecting peripheral to central, numbness occurred in my limbs, core and then head. I could barely walk…..Cause MSG
I never want to feel that way again – it was really scarey.
Since then, I have been very cognizant and avoid as much as possible this additive – I look for it in labels, and reshelve items.
On occasion, I have been to a Chinese restaurant with friends. Drinking 4-6 8 oz glasses of water while I eat one plate of food and avoiding the items which are known for their high MGS content, I have managed to stay healthy and alert during those times. Basically, dilute and flush! but it seems to work.
Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the public…..it really is a harmful substance that is significantly overused.
Thanks for sharing your story Annette
im glad to see someone is speaking up about this stuff i have five kids and my dream is to outlaw in my house any thing that is made in a lab and not on a farm
Awesome Ben. It’s the same in my house.
Ray,
I wasn’t aware of how toxic MSG was, but in our house we usually avoid it anyway. I have seen a “green logo” on some products where they tell you that MSG is not in the ingredients, so . . .
The oil and vinegar thng is good, and if you add oregano, basil, and a dash of mustard that makes a very nice vinegarette. Okay I add ground flax seed and a local spice combo we call Zahatar, but that’s my choice.
Heck, when you live in the Mediteranean as I do, you do as the people in the Mediteranean do. Of course, you can follow a Mediteranean diet elsewhere, too.
Well what can one say. It does in fact answer a question, re a old army pal of mine, (we are both ex airborne) he has got a brain tumour on his fight front lobe, (Cancer) and has been eating he thinks, healthy for many years, Japanese food 3/4 times a week. i popped in to there kitchen, and low and behold ingredients Full of GSM, not just a few but at lest 70/75%.
But would not believe a word i said about GSM.
Ray,
Currently I am working with a very conventional trainer who keeps me to “his routines”, so . . . if I want to stay there its obvious that nothing comes over the net goes into my routine. However, one of the pluses of this trainer is that he provides his clients with a nutritionist who is a Holistic GP.
It was awesome to hear about how you could eat real food instead of taking pills, or supplements. The gist of our conversation was that you cook your own and keep to natural. That means, that MSG is out, of course. If I may share some tips with you and the rest of the commenters. One, Flax seeds promote good cholestorol as we all know, but the husks aren’t absorbed into the body, right? Okay, here’s wachado–put the seeds in lukewarm water, or yoghurt and let the husks disintegrate overnight. By the morning the blend of Flax Seed and the water or yoghurt is the first thing you eat/drink in the morning. At night, she suggested plain old lettuce, a few leaves before going to sleep. it cleans you are sleeping, so you are ready for the HDL that you drink/eat in the morning.
In general, this GP feels that you can become better by “eating better” without the doubtful benefits the Pharma claims to offer.
