Biking To Work Is Enough Cardio

Hey Ray,

I bought the book yesterday, I’m already halfway through it (which is good by my standards!)

I just wanted get some insight on my cardio work. At the moment I cycle in and out of work 5 days a week (20 mins each way) and whilst its not at 70% max heart rate, I get a good sweat up. I don’t actually own a car, so nearly all of my travelling is on the bike. Should I adjust my cardio as per your program?

The book is really good by the way, as I said before, I don’t want to bulk up, but I want more definition. What is the best weights/bodyweight approach for me?

Kind Regards,

Karl.

I would go the bodyweight route for the first bit and once that change has stalled out, you can incorporate the weights to the degree that you want more muscular change.

With all the biking you are doing, I would only do a 5-10 minute cardio warmup before the wieghts and skip the dedicated cardio sessions included in the program. I would only consider adding in more once I knew you were eating the proper amounts and the biking alone was not causing fast enough results for you.

Good questions! I look forward to hearing about your progress as well as any challenges you run into.
